Aivia Software

Aivia System Folders

Aivia uses various temporary and non-temporary folders outside of the installation directory. Examples as follows are on a Windows 10 machine with Aivia installed on C: in the default location. This page may be useful if you need special permissions for directories from your IT department.

System temporary folders

Windows provides several standard locations where space can be automatically reclaimed by the system. These are used by some Aivia operations to guard against failure of manual cleanup. The standard paths are tried in this order:

  1. The path specified by the TMP environment variable.

  2. The path specified by the TEMP environment variable.

  3. The path specified by the USERPROFILE environment variable.

  4. The Windows directory.
