Hotkeys are keyboard shortcuts that allow you to quickly perform specific functions without having to click or navigate. The available hotkey options are summarized in the tables below, grouped by the location in the interface that the keys affect.

Ctrl + O

File I/OLaunches the Open File dialog for opening a file

Ctrl + S

Performs an in-place save

Shift + Ctrl + S

Launches the Save File dialog for saving an image file
Ctrl + Alt + RReloads the current image
Ctrl + Shift + Alt + [1-9]Opens the most recent files by the order of the last loaded, starting with 1 as the most recently loaded file
Ctrl + 0DisplayToggles the display of all object sets and their overlays
Ctrl + [1-9]

Toggles the display of the object sets by their order of appearance, starting with 1 as the first (1st) object set

Ctrl + Shift + [1-9]

Toggles the display of channels by their order of appearance, starting with 1 as the first (1st) channel

Ctrl + Shift + ~Toggles the display of all channels
Ctrl + ASelectionSelects all objects
Ctrl + ERestores the last saved object selection
Ctrl + WSaves object selection
DeleteDeletes selected objects
ZZooms to selected objects
Alt + AGUI


Opens the Analysis menu with underlined letters that can be pressed to select the corresponding options
Alt + EOpens the Edit menu  with underlined letters that can be pressed to select the corresponding options; for example, press Alt + E and then A to perform the Select All Objects action
Alt + FOpens the File menu with underlined letters that can be pressed to select the corresponding options; for example, press Alt + Fthen I, and then C to open a window where you can select a classifier for import
Alt + HOpens the Help menu with underlined letters that can be pressed to select the corresponding options; for example, press Alt + H and then A to open the About window
Alt + VOpens the View menu with underlined letters that can be pressed to select the corresponding options; for example, press Alt + V and then V to perform the View Action History action
Alt + F4Quits Aivia
Ctrl + HHides all panels except the Image Panel
Ctrl + TCollapses/Expands all panels except the Image Panel
 (up arrow key)NavigationMoves the display to the first time point in the image sequence when the timebar is selected

Shift + CCompletes the mesh
CtrlTemporarily disables (while pressed) painting, erasing, and floodfilling, which can be useful when changing the image position or camera angle while creating/editing a mesh surface
ShiftTemporarily switches (while pressed) to the Paint Brush of Eraser, whichever is not the current mode
EscRemoves all painting data from the current slice
DeleteRemoves all painting data from all slices
DToggles the Auto Floodfill option
FToggles the Auto Step option
GToggles the Auto Draw option
HTemporarily hides (while pressed) painting data
Ctrl + JHides/Shows painting data

The Clipping & Ortho Plane hotkeys are also often useful when you are using the Mesh Contour Editor.

Toggles the Create Tag option
T then [# of preset]Loads the corresponding preset settings into the Tag Creation section; [# of preset] is the number of the preset in the order they are listed in the Preset Menu; supports up to ten (10) presets, with the tenth (10th) having the hotkey T then 0
T then HToggles the visibility of tags in the Image Panel
