Average Arrival Time for Fast Flim Images

Average Arrival Time for Fast Flim Images

Fast FLIM images now show Average Arrival Time alongside Intensity values. This provides additional temporal information for each pixel, improving data interpretation. When the mouse pointer hovers over a pixel in the Main View and an applicable channel is loaded, the Average Arrival time will display alongside the Intensity value at the bottom of the screen as pictured:

Channel Identification for Average Arrival Time

Only channels labeled with "Average Arrival" or "Fast FLIM" in their names are considered Fast FLIM channels.

  • These are the only channels that include Average Arrival Time data.

  • Channels without these identifiers will not display Average Arrival Time.

LASX and Aivia Channel Mapping

In LAS X, each Fast FLIM channel is represented as a single channel. In Aivia, the same Fast FLIM channel is represented as two channels: one for Intensity and one for Average Arrival Time (Fast FLIM).

This split allows you to visualize spatial intensity and temporal fluorescence information separately while retaining their linkage.

Note: Calculating Average Arrival Time can sometimes increase loading time, as the system must process additional data.

Skipping Average Arrival Time Calculation

Users who prefer not to calculate or display Average Arrival Time can disable it:

Go to File → Options.

Select Skip calculating Average Arrival Time.

This option helps reduce processing overhead and improve responsiveness when only intensity data is required.
